About Skagen
Skagen Designs was founded in 1987 by Copenhagen natives Henrik and Charlotte Jorst, who operated in the belief that beautifully-designed, high-quality objects might be offered at reasonable prices. Taking their inspiration in the sheer and straightforward beauty from the Danish coastal landscape, the founders dealt with well-known Danish designers to produce a collection of elegant timepieces distinguished by their clean, pure lines and sophisticated styling. Skagen watches represent a harmonious mixture of spirited design, beautiful craftsmanship, and expert precision.

The History of Skagen Designs
In 1987, Henrik and Charlotte Jorst came towards the Usa using their native Denmark to adhere to a dream: those of owning and running their very own business. The Skagen Collection of watches reflects the Jorsts' creative Danish spirit with clean, elegant designs, skillful craftsmanship and technical perfection. When you buy a piece through the Skagen Collection, you feel part of an international community of Skagen owners who believe in a philosophy of design and manufacturing excellence.

Cleaning Your Skagen Watch
Skagen suggests the following solutions for cleaning metal and crystal surfaces:

3:1 solution of ammonia based window cleaner to water
4:1 solution of rubbing alcohol to water.
Do not use soap products.

These suggested solutions will evaporate cleanly from metal and glass surfaces. Soap will leave residue behind when dry.
To clean the truth and crystal:
Moisten a soft cloth with one in the above solutions. Gently wipe true and crystal clean. Be careful not to set an excessive amount of stress around the crystal when you clean. *NEVER immerse or soak the case/crystal portion of the watch, regardless of water resistance rating. Moisture could seep past the seals over time.

To clean the band or strap:
Skagen soft mesh bands can be adjustable. Simply insert a tiny screwdriver or similar tool in to the clasp. Lift the clasp without applying pressure towards the thin pin over the clasp and go on to desired position. Snap closed securely. Make sure the clasp is set a single in the indentations about the back in the band. Link bands are completely adjustable anywhere watches are serviced.

Skagen suggests the following practices for cleaning metal, rubber and leather surfaces:
Metal watchbands
Dip a cotton swab inside the above solution, and gently rub it in to the soiled portion from the band. For more intricate mesh bands, you could wish to work with a soft bristle toothbrush or nailbrush. Be certain to cover the truth in the watch during this process so as not to soak it. For stubborn soil, you could desire to bring it to a jeweler for the professional cleaning.

Rubber watchstraps
Simply wipe them down using a damp, soft cloth. Avoid soaps and solvents because they may dry or crack the plastic.

Leather watchstraps: Top Grain
Top grain leather could be characterized by its smooth, somewhat shiny appearance. To clean this type of leather, follow exactly the same procedure as using the rubber watchband. Simply wipe it clean using a damp cloth, using water only. You may want to use leather conditioner or perhaps a small quantity of hand lotion to maintain the leather supple over time. Top grain leather may create a milky "haze" if left alone for longer periods. This can just be wiped away or removed with leather conditioner.

Leather watchstraps: Nubuck
This is actually full grain leather while using top layer shaved off, leaving a flat, smooth finish. A product termed as a "nubuck eraser" could be available at better shoe repair shops. It's going to assist to remove most light stains and debris from nubuck.

Quartz movement
Black titanium mesh band.
Water-resistant to 99 feet (30 M)
