The History of Skagen Designs
In 1987, Henrik and Charlotte Jorst came towards the United States from other native Denmark to follow along with a dream: that relating to owning and running their very own business. Skagen Designs was founded by those two natives of Copenhagen for the principle that beautifully designed, high-quality objects can be created at reasonable prices. The Skagen Collection of watches reflects the Jorsts' creative Danish spirit with clean, elegant designs, skillful craftsmanship and technical perfection. When you obtain a piece in the Skagen Collection, you then become a part of a worldwide community of Skagen owners who believe inside a philosophy of design and manufacturing excellence.
Skagen Trend Spotting
In industry place, time never stands still and so our innovation never sits idle. Our design team is around the pulse of current fashions, with regular visits to style centers in the world including Denmark, Switzerland,Italy, France, New York and Hong Kong. We are never content to follow established trends. We stay true to the classic design philosophy and interpret trends accordingly. We observe, listen and innovate - all to generate lasting design pieces.
The Result
The production of these lasting design pieces often demands special processes and tooling. These are often difficult to create; however, we have been never satisfied with "close enough". We continually push and fine-tune designs to remain true to the standards. We know what we wish and are unhappy before the design, material and workmanship are just right. The effect for these work and dedication speak for themselves inside the jaw dropping enthusiasm and excitement created whenever anyone views our product line.
Maintaining Your Skagen Watch

Have your Skagen watch serviced by an official service center.
All Skagen watches operate with standard batteries. When necessary, any jeweler can replace them for you. Different models are water resistance against varying degrees. Please refer on the back of your watch for the water resistant rating.
How to Set Time And Date
Pull the crown out to the middle position.
Rotate the crown to set date
Pull the crown out to fully extended position and rotate crown to set desired time.
Push the crown back to its normal position. The date and time are now set.
Cleaning Your Skagen Watch
Skagen suggests the following solutions to clean metal and crystal surfaces:
3:1 solution of ammonia based window cleaner to water
4:1 solution of rubbing alcohol to water.
Do not use soap products.
These suggested solutions will evaporate cleanly from metal and glass surfaces. Soap will leave residue behind when dry.
To clean the truth and crystal:
Moisten a soft cloth with one with the above solutions. Gently wipe the truth and crystal clean. Be mindful not to place a lot of stress about the crystal as you clean. *NEVER immerse or soak the case/crystal portion of the watch, regardless of water resistance rating. Moisture could seep after dark seals over time.
To clean the band or strap:
Skagen soft mesh bands are typically adjustable. Simply insert a little screwdriver or similar tool in the clasp. Lift up the clasp without applying pressure on the thin pin through the clasp and go on to desired position. Snap closed securely. Make certain the clasp is defined in a from the indentations for the back of the band. Link bands are completely adjustable anywhere watches are serviced.
Skagen suggests the following practices to clean metal, rubber and leather surfaces:
Metal watchbands
Dip a cotton swab within the above solution, and gently rub it into the soiled portion from the band. For additional intricate mesh bands, you may need to work with a soft bristle toothbrush or nailbrush. Be certain to pay for the situation in the watch in this process so as not to soak it. For stubborn soil, you might wish to bring it to your jeweler to get a professional cleaning.
Rubber watchstraps
Simply wipe them down using a damp, soft cloth. Avoid soaps and solvents since they may dry or crack the plastic.
Leather watchstraps: Top Grain
Top grain leather could be characterized by its smooth, somewhat shiny appearance. To clean this form of leather, follow the identical procedure as with the rubber watchband. Simply wipe it clean having a damp cloth, using water only. You could wish to use leather conditioner or even a small quantity of hand lotion to keep your leather supple over time. Top grain leather may develop a milky "haze" if left alone for longer periods. This could simply be wiped away or removed with leather conditioner.
Leather watchstraps: Nubuck
This is actually full grain leather with all the top layer shaved off, leaving a flat, smooth finish. A product called a "nubuck eraser" may be found at better shoe repair shops. It will help remove most light stains and debris from nubuck.
This shiny square case in silver reflects elements of Danish design, emanating the ultra-slim contemporary look that is a Skagen timepiece. The dials feature chrome indexes, three hands and a watch catching big date above six o'clock.
35.5mm diameter steel case and 9mm case thickness.
